Dow improves Lambda of STYROFOAM products by 0.002 W/mK
STYROFOAM™ Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) insulation, a product invented by Dow over 60 years ago and which is regularly specified for a wide range of building projects all over the world, has advanced in the thermal performance to meet new demands. |

Now, specifiers can be safe in the knowledge that not only do all STYROFOAM-A products offer the long term mechanical strength and moisture resistance that are relied upon for so many applications, but that the entire product and thickness range of ROOFMATE™- A, WALLMATE™- A, FLOORMATE™- A and PERIMATE™- A has stepped up a gear in terms of thermal resistance, achieving improved lambda of 0.002 W/mK.
STYROFOAM-A products use recycled carbon dioxide as the main blowing agent, giving a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of less than five. The improved thermal resistance of STYROFOAM-A product range further contributes towards energy efficient building design by driving even better insulation performance from existing thickness levels, thereby reducing energy requirements for heating and cooling. |
